Philippe Clement has launched yet another rant against the Dens Park pitch.
On Tuesday the paranoid Ibrox boss shared his concerns ahead for Wednesday’s match against Dundee going ahead as planned, on Thursday he discussed his anger over a wasted hotel break which was only brightened up by a tearful 6-year-old from Wales who had been dragged to Scotland by his attention seeking father.
After is Thursday rant to the broadcasters and daily papers Clement spoke to the Sunday papers where he shared fresh horrors about about Dens Park including the claim that it will put players and coaches off moving to Scotland.
For the hard of thinking reading the Daily Record if you’ve been sacked by Monaco and have the personality of a goldfish as long as the money is right you’ll move to Scotland regardless of the weather conditions on Tayside.
With seven SPFL matches left to play this season Clement is expected to play as many games at Dens Park as Ibrox but given the platform for another rant the former Coventry midfielder waded right in:
The Ibrox gaffer is still livid that Gers’ game against Dundee was postponed for a second time on Wednesday night due to an unplayable pitch. And Clement insists if similar things continue to tarnish Scottish football’s reputation, managers will choose Belgium’s second tier or League One in England over our top flight. When asked if the Dens Park incident might put players or coaches off coming to Scotland, the Rangers boss said: “If these things come back, yes.
“You don’t want this story about the pitch to be normal. If everybody here says: ‘OK, this is normal. You go to Dundee two times but cannot play because the pitch is under water’, no, you don’t want that. If this is normal and you can go to the Scottish Premiership or League One, or the second tier in Belgium for example, then you go there because you know you can do your job in a normal way.
“That’s the same for foreign people or Scottish people. I think for everybody it would be really clear. This situation cannot happen again in the future. Nobody wants it.
“It’s something that has happened and now the federation has to be very clear in finding solutions. How can they avoid this ever happening again?”
With their top six place secured by a 0-0 draw at Aberdeen yesterday Dundee are expected to host Clement’s side for a third time after the split while making a third visit to Celtic Park.
Once he has solved the problems of the pitch at Dens Park Clement is going to sort the potholes of Glasgow then turn his attention to the sewage flowing along the River Thames before starting pre-season training in July.
Or the sewage flowing from the mouths of his supporters…That would help…The guy is a FUD.
Deflection by the Belgian waffler won’t address the songbook or the bottle throwing at ibrokes which would have more of an impact on a coaches thinking.
Even allowing for English not being his first language, that really is Pedro Caixinha level drivel. I want to win the league first and foremost for ourselves, but to see what sort of effect it has on this walloper would be a pleasing perk. Don’t screw it up, Brendan.
The effect it has had on him today is racing up the tunnel without shaking the hand of his opposing manager who beat him thank goodness…
Beautiful indeed (the result) – Ugly indeed (his utter lack of sportsmanship) !
I didn’t watch it having little belief that RC FC (the truly paranoid will be seeing something in that acronym that isn’t actually there!) would get anything from the game given their lowly league position but I’ve long believed Sevco will struggle on the heavy pitch at Dens Park, particularly after spending weeks getting Dundee totally fired up for it! I’ll be watching that one with interest and if they were to drop more points on Wednesday I think we’ll see ‘Thin Diesel’ go full-tilt nuts afterwards. I’m going to get the popcorn in just so I’m prepared.
