‘Something stinks’ ‘You couldn’t make it up’ ‘Biggest threat is Dallas’ Celtic fans react to SFA announcement

Celtic fans were sickened by the announcement on Tuesday that Andrew Dallas and John Beaton will be teaming up for Sunday’s match away to Dundee.

While James Bisgrove tells the SFA what officials aren’t acceptable Michael Nicholson assumes his favourite position at the back of the bus, looking down at his feet and wondering what Peter will think.

After Beaton’s performance at Ibrox a Celtic source told the Daily Record that the club had been in touch with the SFA over the way VAR had been in operation at Ibrox.

Surprise! Surprise! Nothing has been heard since on the issue while over the same weekend Aberdeen issued a detailed statement over the VAR guessing game that denied them a late winning goal away to Livingston.

It is impossible to come to any other conclusion than Celtic are all-in with the Levelling Up exercise to manufacture a competitive O** F*** battle for honours.

Since his performance at Ibrox on April 7 Beaton hasn’t refereed any other match. With 18 referees taking charge of Premiership matches this season Crawford Allan has given the man from the Crown Bar back-to-back Celtic fixtures.

At matchday 34 Beaton will referee his sixth SPFL match involving Celtic, he was also on VAR for the defeat at Tynecastle.

With Willie Collum out of bounds for matches involving Philippe Clement’s side Beaton has had three of their matches since the turn of the year, the same number as the like minded David Dickinson.
