Hugh Keevins was in his pomp on Saturday despite Celtic moving four points clear at the top of the SPFL table.

After a lifetime of calling things out completely wrong the veteran debater still gets a kick out of predicting doom and gloom for Scotland’s most successful ever club.

Since Mark Warburton entered the top tier of Scottish football Celtic’s demise has been excitedly predicted, at the start of this season Michael Beale was about to expose Brendan Rodgers by presenting the Irishman with his first real challenge in Scottish football.

When that Revolution failed to make it until the end of British Summer Time Keevins switched his faith to Mister Clement, apparently he was a proper football manager and ready to cut Celtic and Rodgers down to size- once again.

At half time on Saturday with Celtic drawing 0-0 at home to St Mirren Mark Wilson warned of the consequences of Celtic failing to take full points against the Paisley side, that was just the introduction that Keevins required as he jumped in with:

It has gone because Rangers will beat Ross County tomorrow and will go top and will extend their lead at the top wherever the match against Dundee is played in midweek.

If Celtic conform to the Keevins metric a draw is a disaster, a defeat is a catastrophe. They are blowing the league and they are 45 minutes to disprove my theory.

This morning Celtic are at the top of the SPFL Premiership table, they will be there on Thursday morning, over the weekend and through until at least April 27.

Keevins will be back on Super Scoreboard during the week, sharing the wisdom and knowledge of over 50 years watching football from the Press Box, Sports Desk and radio studio.

The time to worry is when shug starts backing Celtic.

  • JC says:

He is the Scottish version of septic peg.

  • Captain Swing says:

Keevins is absolutely not good enough as a pundit…

Unfortunately, it is us discussing his gibbering idiotic pronouncements that gives him the oxygen of publicity – if we just ignored him he would melt away quicker than snow in direct sunlight.

  • Charlie Kelly says:

What a complete arse Keevins continues to be honestly was an Arrogant prick growing up in Partick, always right has taken every chance to criticise Celtic our put them down
    Remember Broken Crest clown

  • Bhoy4life says:

Keevins has that much egg on his face I’m stunned his coupon doesn’t turn into an omelette when the sun shines.
He says what he thinks and wants to happen, hardly journalistic at all, just a bitter old hack.

  • Jim M says:

50 years as a journalist, HA ! More fool the clowns that have employed him this long .

An absolute embarrassment as a sports writer/ pundit, couldn’t find his arse if he’d 2 pairs of hands.

Appeases sevco fans as their the only peepul to buy the daily ranger , like him that newspaper ” has had its day looking forward 2 both disappearing, the quicker the better ?

Made money on the back of our club writing books

and now attacking us at every opportunity to keep himself in a job

    • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

It’s Scotland Harold – It’s what they do (well if they are our ‘folks’ anyway)…

However you never seem to see any of The Sevco Huns ‘peepil’ being so constant in their criticism of the said Sevco Huns –

Probably just to keep in with Sevco fans who surely are the only fans that buy or read the rags of The Scummy Scottish Football Media on a daily basis…

I’d normally NEVER encourage any Celtic supporters to listen to Clyde Superscoreboard when Sevco were top of the league but tonight and tomorrow night will be ‘must listen’ viewing for sure whatever Sevco Huns that they’ll wheel out for it…

Personally I hope it’s Kenny Miller (as much as I hate his awful twang and incoherent rambling) !

    • John Copeland says:

I wonder why the old QEII never made chief sports scoop of the daily Record ? The rag made Inaction Jackson the head typist and that was after he told the entire Planet that ex the Rangers owner – Craig not so Whyte was a billionaire with wealth off the radar , embarrassing the publication forever and a day ! Inaction is none too clever at the old “predictions ” lark ,as was proven last week ….is he ? It kinda makes you ponder what the Record head bummers see in scoops as “talent ?”
