Brendan Rodgers was first off the team bus to thank the Green Brigade for arranging a noisy and colourful send off for the first team squad as they prepare for Sunday’s Glasgow Derby.

It appeared as if a few thousand fans had packed The Celtic Way to cheer the team off before a match in front of no Celtic fans.

After the manager got off the bus he was followed by his players as they enjoyed some acclaim and backing ahead of a fixture which will be played in the most hostile of territories.

Earlier the players had all been cheered for the basic act of parking their car then reporting inside the front entrance.

After departing from Celtic Park the squad will have booked into a hotel to complete their preparations for Ibrox.

With a 12 noon kick off and arrival at the stadium expected between 10 and 10.30 tomorrow morning will consist of little more than breakfast then getting on the bus for the journey along the Motorway to Ibrox.

At 10.45am the team will be announced, answering the big question of what role if any Callum McGregor plays in the match.

What a wonderful club to support and how lucky I am to be born into a Tim family.

This is all very well but why are we still using flares and pyros, this will get us in serious trouble one day,I don’t even see the point in setting off red distress flares WTF has that to do with Celtic, disappointing that this behaviour doesn’t look like abating at all .

Jim, I agree absolutely regarding pyro of any kind as it’s an accident waiting to happen. It just seems to be part of the (relatively) modern age, younger guys who believe “No Pyro, No Party”. But IT’S ALL ABOUT CELTIC, and THAT’s what matters.
I ended up disappointed today as I thought we held back after HT and should’ve gone for it. ‘Their’ pen was never a pen as AJ is pulling back and Silva was diving again, and again….. Beaton (correctly) shows him a yellow for repeated diving then goes to VAR and changes his mind…….blatant cheating, again and again…….
