Celtic returned from Livingston with much more than three points following their victory over David Martindale’s side.

With Brendan Rodgers watching from the stand he was able to fully assess the performances of Reo Hatate and Cameron Carter-Vickers ahead of next Sunday’s critical Glasgow Derby.

There were a few concerns about giving Hatate his first Celtic start since October while Carter-Vickers injury record this season threw up red flags over the wisdom of playing on plastic.

A very strong penalty claim dismissed by Don Robertson and Alan Muir dominated the first half but after the break Celtic were home and dry.

A shot from Hatate eventually found the net off the shoulder of home defender Jamie Brandon, the relief among the massive away support was clear and obvious.

Further goals from Paulo Bernardo and Matt O’Riley completed the happy picture with Nicolas Kuhn voted as Man of the Match by Sky Sports.

Afterwards John Kennedy was on media duties as Rodgers mulled over a very satisfying Easter Sunday.
