When Beaton took his No Card policy too far with Ibrox ‘scorer’

While the cheerleaders in legacy media congratulate John Beaton on his brave performance at Ibrox the real picture is emerging on real (social) media.

The decision making of the man from the Crown Bar in Bellshill is being taken apart on Twitter with Lint leading the way by highlighting the consistent inconsistencies.

With 46% possession of the ball Celtic managed to commit more than twice as many fouls as their opponents with a Crime Count of 23-10.

One of those fouls was reluctantly given after Tom Lawrence had wiped out Tomoki Iwata, Beaton had a clear view of the incident but since the ball ended up in the net the attack on the Celtic midfielder had to be punished.

Once the ball went into the net Cyriel Dessers was off and celebrating with the home fans complete with a corner flag in his hand!

That sort of action results in bookings across football, scorers know it and accept it as a small price to pay for finding the net.

‘Fortunately’ for Dessers no action was taken, he was able to continue breaking the Laws of the Game with the comfort of knowing that Beaton had no intention of booking him or any of this team-mates.

With Celtic completely dominant during the first half Beaton dished out bookings to Alistair Johnston, Matt O’Riley and Nicolas Kuhn.
