The Daily Record has dropped Celtic into second place in the SPFL Premiership this afternoon without a ball being kicked.

Sunday’s Glasgow Derby left the hoops one point ahead after the dust had settled, that situation could have changed tonight had the match at Dens Park gone ahead but not at 14.58 when the Record decided to publish a story based on a Celtic TV interview with Brendan Rodgers.

The hoops boss was reflecting on the action from Ibrox but in what appears to be an early run for Thursday’s print edition it has been assumed that Philippe Clement’s side win full points at Dundee tonight (Game Off).

With inspections at 11am and 3.30pm there was clearly doubts over the match going ahead, at 4pm this afternoon it was announced that the game had been postponed leaving Celtic in top place until Saturday lunchtime at the latest.

The Celtic boss is locked in a nail biting two way fight for the a championship for the first time since he was pipped to the Premier League on the final day by Manchester City during his time in charge at Anfield. Rangers reclaimed pole position at Dens Park last night when they won their game in hand to open a two point lead with just six games remaining.

With the match at Dens Park now postponed a win for Celtic at home to St Mirren on Saturday will leave Clemet’s side four points behind as they kick-off away to Ross County at noon on Sunday. It also leaves the SPFL with a likely headache over the post-split fixtures.

With one more Glasgow Derby still to be played both clubs can claim that by winning all of their remaining matches they will finish in top place after Matchday 38.

Y’ see …what’s the point in any other team turning up at all as the Daily Record have declared the Rangers as the supreme team and clumpany in the country with them winning a game convincingly without kicking a ball ? Nobody else can compete with the supernatural powers of the team from Govanland ! And not a dodgy word was heard by anyone from the famous songbook at all . Magical and mystical …we are not worthy !
