Leon Balogun could be handed a key role in the Phil Clement Revolution!

The defender will turn 36 next month but with Connor Goldson crocked it looks like Balogun will have a vital role to play in the remaining matches of this season.

John Lundstram and Borna Barisic seem to be fixed up for next season already but there has been no suggestion of interest from elsewhere in the veteran who has only started 12 SPFL matches this season, memorably being sent off against Celtic in December.

There isn’t much talk of war-chests around Ibrox at the moment, with Goldson facing months on the sidelines most bears are desperate to see improvements in central defence going into next season.

Leon is somebody who showed every day the right mentality, the right passion for the club. So that can be something that is on the table at the end of the season.

But it is the end of the season that we can make a really good evaluation about everything and everybody. It’s going to be a very interesting period in that way for us to make the right decisions for next season also.

To see how everybody trains, plays, behaves, works, shows resilience in the next couple of weeks because you want to be successful with this club so we need the right players in the building.

A training ground injury to Leon King in pre-season was all that Micky Beale required to sign Balongun last July on another one year contract.

After being released by Giovanni van Bronckhorst Beale took the Nigerian defender to QPR but he was quickly found out in the English second tier.

Beyond Balogun Clement’s options are to turn to former Liverpool ace Ben Davies or bring in King who has barely featured since last season’s Champions League nightmare.

There has been no talk of new deals for Ryan Jack or Kemar Roofe who are both out of contract at the end of this month.

So Goldson the reserve goalkeeper is now out injured is the excuse for him not being seen on the bench now.
There must be a horrible atmosphere in that dressing room now that Goldson has been told to stay away from the klub.
Apparently Tavpen has also blown a fuse with wee Quark’s aka Akex Rae long lost brother seperated at birth Clemente, watch for points now being dropped as the players through Clemente under the bus due to Goldson being papped out the team.
Rumours have it that he has lost the dressing room and the board.

I had to google Leon King. I thought you had just made him up.

The only way you don’t lose the board is to be a staunch apron sporting overweight racist named William McBoyne with shiny acrylic trousers and a clinging scent of alcohol and cabbage.
