Derek Johnstone is believed to be banned from Ibrox.

According to his Linkedin profile the former striker has been a Club Ambassador since 2017 but according to one fan on Follow Follow Johnstone has been ditched by James Bisgrove.

A blazer and brogues is available to numerous former players to put in a matchday shift in a hospitality lounge with the occasional perk of a trip to east Belfast or Larkhall where they can indulge in the local cultures.

Johnstone had two spells at Ibrox as a player, from 1970 to 1983 followed by a return for the 1985/86 season but was never given a Testimonial Match unlike many of his team-mates from the seventies such as Sandy Jardine, Tom Forsyth, Peter McCloy and Colin Jackson.

After a brief spell in management at Partick Thistle Johnstone settled for the easy life as a cheerleader with Radio Clyde and the Evening Times.

Despite his part in the doomed launch of the Sydney Super Cup in November 2022 Bisgrove stepped up from Commercial Director to CEO last summer after Stewart Robertson stepped aside.

With no connection to either Ibrox clubs Bisgrove has treated the 2012 Ibrox Tribute Act as a marketing exercise with his main success the £2m a year money-spinner that is My Gers.

Dumping Micky Beale seven matches into the SPFL season was a decision that couldn’t be avoided, if this season’s SPFL title isn’t won the task of providing Phil Clement with a summer warchest is likely to be challenging.

Johnstone suddenly stepped down from his long term role at Radio Clyde in August 2019, three years after being humiliated live on air by Chris Sutton.

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

It’ll probably be something mental like that he was allegedly a Dundee United supporter growing up…

And the rest of his family siblings still very much are I believe –

These loonies will see that as being Dundee ‘Hibernian’ no doubt…

Even an orange strip won’t cut it for them –

They hate United even more now since their then chairman spoke the truth about ‘Rangers’ as they were known as then booting the bucket to the football fires of hell…

They even hate Dundee now as well –

Ach well – They still have Hearts and Linfield as ‘friends’ I suppose !

  • John Copeland says:

Apparently , there is a huge litigation case (another one ) involving theRangers on the horizon which will cost millions and millions when lost ? Getting rid of Derek Johnston and his “wages ” ,will help in the total austerity programme needed to help pay for said millions and millions of £’s . Look out for further ‘ cutbacks ‘ during the close season from Govanland , especially when the clumpany miss out on the Champions league money guaranteed for the League champions here ?

  • FSTB says:

The administraters for Elite are suing sevco for 9.5m regarding a kit deal they signed .
Sevco got a ruling from the court recently to order elite to lodge ( stop laughing at the beck) £360,000 in an account to cover sevcos legal costs if elite lose their case
Will be interesting if the administrator pays it as
I’m sure their lawyers would have to fancy their chances of winning their case as they could be in trouble for using a company in administrations funds on court fees without a strong hand

I think sevco are trying to call their bluff here in the hope they drop the case

  • The Joker says:

So uncle Fester is not best pleased with Brendan’s comments about having fun,and that uncle Fester would never say anything like that.
Funny how he f****d off down the tunnel without shaking the Ross County managers hand after SCUDDING his team took, you would never get Brendan doing anything like that, uncle Fester is a bawbag.

Now moving on to another bawbag and another stuntman for uncle Fester aka Naismith.
Apparently he saw the Hearts Japanese players speaking with Celtic players and walked away from them leaving them talking,he then went on the team bus and told the driver to leave without the players, leaving the players to get the train back to Edinburgh, what a bawbag.

If the above is true surely the players union must take this matter up with the board of Hearts and the SFA.

  • The Joker says:

On the subject of refs I reckon a bit of doubling down is heading our way,Beaton will either ref the game thos weekend,if he is not the ref he will be on VAR,oh and throw in Dugbaws Toss running the line.

  • The Joker says:

Don’t be surprised to see the SFA double down on Beaton getting to ref our games,I can see him getting one of these gigs come the weekend, either he refs our gane or he is sitting in the VAR room.

  • Captain Swing says:

If Derek is banned from iBrox hospitality lounges his supply of free pies will be cut off. Hopefully this doesn’t constitute insider trading, but a sensible person would consider buying some shares in Greggs….

  • John mcghee says:

Put it this way BR and the players know that if our players play to there standers then whoever the cheating officials are doesn’t matter aslong as we put the ball into the net more times than sevco fc 2012 do if theirs any cheating from them BR should take the team off the park but has to make sure he’s 100% right its the only way these cheating officials will get found out because we all know the media in masonic scotland are scared to say anything about the biased cheating scumbags..listen hopefully we beat them on Saturday our even a draw aslong as they cheats at liebrox dont won..

  • John S says:
