Finally after seven plus minutes of stoppage time the celebrations got under way at Celtic Park.
A 2-1 victory in the Glasgow Derby had sent the hoops six points clear at the top of the SPFL Premiership table with two matches left to play. For insurance there is also a plus seven goal difference cushion.
The match had kicked off in glorious sunshine, matching Celtic’s early play but as the match advanced the conditions became overcast for the 60,000 willing their side on to victory.
At the final whistle there were a mix of emotions, among the players as well as the fans but as the result sunk in a weary lap of honour got under way.

Joe Hart has one more match to play at his adopted home, only the fanatical will expect Matt O’Riley to be back for more next season.
Every year the cast varies a little, yesterday Jota and Abada on the wing weren’t aroound but the story continues to evolve with title number 54 expected to be signed, sealed and delivered on Saturday when St Mirren make their third visit of the season to Celtic Park.
Never, at any point, behind to sevco in any of our matches against them this season.
The best they can do is keep-up!
Lol ah the feelgood factor is out there already after only 24 hours, apparently after the Saudi club and Gerrard denying any interest in Tavpen and Goldson the same club are now back in the hunt for the 2 duds,so says Mark Pirie in the daily sevco.
Lol also in the daily sevco the new klub from ibrox are screaming blue murder, apparently they want answers and severe action taken against Celtic by the SFA/SPFL due to objects being thrown at Tavpen yesterday.
Imagine that nickel&dime klub having the cheek to call that out after what that klub has got away with over the last few seasons at their own dump, without a fine or a warning taking place for the behaviour of their thuggish fans.
Anything in The Daily Sevco is Tell me Lies, Tell me Lies, Tell me Evil big Lies !
Now that our 54th title is almost upon us, spare a thought for the poor Huns, who are absolutely petrified that we will win the league next year. If we did, that would be our 55th league flag. Two things to note here:
1. The original Huns did not win 54 league titles. The very first league title was split between Dumbarton and the Huns.
2. If we do win our 55th league title, every title would have been won fairly and squarely. We certainly would not have to purchase another club’s titles, in order to reach that fabled number of league flags.
Hail Hail.
