True Blue Dessers goes all Barry Ferguson with Next Season pledge

Cyriel Dessers has gone ‘full Barry Ferguson’ in order to be inspired for Next Season FC.

Last week in the Daily Record former Rangers captain Ferguson revealed that he watched the full celebrations following Celtic’s title clincher in order to gain inspiration for winning Next Season’s SPFL title.

Apparently watching presentations and celebrations pure fires Barry up to Stoap Selik next time out with Dessers taking the same approach after leaving Hampden on Saturday with a losers medal from the Scottish Cup.

After Celtic’s 2-1 SPFL victory virtually tied up the title the message was that the gap between the two clubs isn’t actually that big.

The evidence of the last five matches and two season’s of Celtic domination suggests otherwise but owing up to reality is never the message from Ibrox.

Putting his best spin on a season of failure Dessers told the Daily Record:

We were close and we played a good game. It wasn’t an easy game and if you lose it that way in the end then obviously it hurts.

It’s been a heavy season, that’s for sure in all kinds of ways. It’s easy to all go down now in energy and everyone needs to take a rest but to see them celebrate today and 10 days ago gives me a lot of energy to go again this summer.

It maybe seems weird to say now but I cannot wait for pre-season to start again and to do better than this season. I’m looking forward to that.

Dessers played for more than 20 minutes with a serious ankle injury that could rule him out of pre-season training which starts at the end of June.

With Kemar Roofe out of contract and Danilo yet to play this year Phil Clement already has striker issues for next season.
