Quality was the watchword as Brenan Rodgers spoke to Sky Sports about his expectations for the summer transfer window.
It isn’t a new theme from the Celtic boss but after what most would term a window of ‘project signings’ last summer it seems obvious that the Irishman is setting different expectations for business over the coming months.
As Celtic entered the business end of the season there was barely any involvement from the summer signings with Marco Tilio and Kwon Hyeok-kyu moved out on loan in January.
Gus Lagerbielke was set to join Lecce on loan until he was required to stay on at Celtic following a January injury to Cameron Carter-Vickers.
?? “I think there’s going to be change come the summer… It is a real bright future.”

At the start of March Celtic announced that Mark Lawwell was leaving his role as Head of Scouting and Recruitment, since then there has been no club announcement over a replacement or restructuring.
Rodgers sounds very sure on his plans for the summer although bringing in a replacement for Joe Hart is the only position that is specifically mentioned.
The Celtic boss also discusses the natural cycle of a squad being three years which runs back to Ange Postecoglou’s arrival at the club.
Under the guidance of the Australian, Celtic enjoyed two exceptional transfer windows, setting supporter expectations with an emphasis on experienced, first team ready players.

I know we will never know…but Siegrist is a total mystery…That kind of situation can never be allowed again…Utter farce.
Bisgrove was looking to bring King back to front a bew phase in going forward, but others told him to fuck off, hence the quick exit to the Saudis.
Now King needs to work on another insider in the boardroom for plan of change.
So, the starting point is the same as last summer:
quality goalkeeper, left back and striker?
In addition to tweaking the ‘buying business model’,
the selling model has to be tweaked as well.
To make any progress in Europe we might need to hang on
to our best players for an extra season or two, [if possible?]
For my money, John Kennedy would have been up there with Van Dyke had he not got injured. I remember raving about him. Celtic have stood by him but perhaps it is time to go, along with Strachan jr and Lawwell senior. ( is Lawwell jr still being paid?).
Aberdeen coaches made progress with Scales and Christie but the Celtic staff couldn’t.
Also the vulnerability at corners and dead ball situation have been there for the last so many years and still not fixed.
Time for some hard decisions.
I think Bernardo will be too dear for him so I think Lawwell will buy another bargain winger instead
