Rangers will demand a fee of £5million if they are to sell Tom Lawrence in the summer transfer window.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track Podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Rangers will attempt to raise as much money as possible should they opt to sell the Welshman.

Lawrence, 30, struggled with fitness and injury issues throughout last season, making 32 appearances across all competitions, with just 16 coming from the start.

However, the club will attempt to maximise their profit from the sale after bringing him in on a free transfer from Derby County in 2022.

Since arriving at Ibrox two years ago, Lawrence has made 41 appearances for the club, scoring six goals and providing five assists.

His current contract is set to expire in 2025, with Rangers keen to cash in for the highest possible fee with just one year remaining on his deal.

More likely is the scenario that Lawrence and his agent are negotiating a deal to terminate his contract, saving the club some wages and allowing the midfielder to return south as a free agent. For £5m any buyer could probably get Todd Cantwell and Nicky Raskin added in to the package.

Over the last 13 months Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent Filip Helander, John Lundstram, Ryan Kent, Borna Barisic and Kemar Roofe have all left as free agents with no one prepared to offer a transfer fee for any of those ‘stars’.
