After weeks of negotiations to sign Albion Rrahmani from Rapid Bucharest it seems that Phil Clement will have to settle for signing Moroccan star Hamza Igamane.

All of the usual messaging went out for signing Rrahmani but a £5m transfer fee has proved to be too much for the Ibrox Tribute Act with the Romanian’s not prepared to accept a loan with an obligation to buy next summer. Clubs from Ibrox don’t have a strong credit rating.

Igamane, a Moroccan u-23 internationalist can now expect to get the fawning treatment which will no doubt involve finding someone to compare him with a young Mo Salah. It is unlikely that Igamane will ever score a Champions League hat-trick at Ibrox.

With one week to go before pre-season training starts at Murray Park excitement is confined to the arrivals of Jefte and Clinton Nsiala.

Introducing their latest goal hero the Daily Record reported:

Rangers have lodged a bid to try and sign young Moroccan star Hamza Igamane, according to a report.

Philippe Clement is keen to bolster his attacking options this summer, following Kemar Roofe’s departure and the uncertainty around Sam Lammers’ long-term future at Ibrox. Bayern Munich youngster Yusuf Kabadayi is said to be on the Belgian’s radar, with the Light Blues looking to ease the burden on number nine Cyriel Dessers in front of goal next season.

And according to Moroccan outlet KoraMaroc, the Gers have made an offer for top-flight club FAR Rabat’s forward Igamane. The 21-year-old enjoyed a decent campaign in front of goal in 2023/24, netting seven times in 23 matches for FAR, who have qualified for the AFC Champions League after narrowly missing out on the Botola Pro title to rivals Raja CA. Igamane, has won six caps for his country at U23 level, scoring six times and is valued at around £380,000 on Transfermarkt.

When you turn to Transfermarkt for plyer valuations you must be struggling, during the 22/23 season they had Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent as the most valuable players in the SPFL.

With Danilo and Dessers injured it looks like Scott Wright will be the first choice Ibrox striker when pre-season gets underway.

The report in the Record failed to offer any updates on interest from Al Ettifaq in James Tavernier and Connor Goldson.

  • the maister says:

Sevco don’t seem to attract many Scottish home-grown talents anymore!
    I wonder why not!?

    • TicToc says:

Could it be that Sevco’s credit rating (in Scotland at least) has gone down the drain, just like the original ‘club’/company?

  • TicToc says:

I can’t remember for definite by whom, but it WAS in the printed media, long pre-Sevco days when Rangers was called out for its sectarian acceptance/ignorance and its SCUM fans too.
Approx: “A permanent embarrassment and occasional disgrace (to Scotland)!
And they’ve managed to get worse………..since they died. WTF?????
Those people whom regulate the (fixed) game in Scotia, ashking for McCoisht, “Who are theez people?

  • TicToc says:

I’ve looked on Transfermarkt many times to attempt to assess potential Celtic FC signings.
It’s unreliable, valuations miles apart from ultimate transfer fees and it looks manipulatable, (if such a word exists) and hence the Sevco ‘valuations’……….they have NO class, NO shame but feral cunning in spades. Always keep a hun(s) in front of you, never behind you…….they only ‘attack’ from behind, attack the vulnerable and would ‘shit it’ from me, even at my age. Fukkin scum, UTTER SCUM.

  • TicToc says:

BTW, there was a terrific article on TheCelticBlog the other day……..pointing out the REAL cost to taxpayers and much more regarding the death of Hun 1. There are SALIENT points missing which I have, but I’m not sure how to do this as it’s essential to me that the truth comes out: no inter-fighting, but unification of Celtic supporters throughout the world. The TRUTH is ‘out there’……….show it, magnify it, and ensure accountability is served, especially on that piece of masonic filth “Sir David Murray”.
Aye, you corrupt bastards are still in sight, and more…………
Lets get the Celtic sites together on this, join the evidence and PROSECUTE that scum…..preferably OUTSIDE Scotland and its parochial, paid-for, masonic scum, and that’s inventions, pretending to be genuine, e.g. The Nimmo-Smith cover up……
Oh, the TRUTH is there, it just needs to be exposed and for now, I’d thank James Forrest for his input and article on his site.
But, truth has no favourites, and Peter Lawwell must be brought to account. (he whom says he has “never seen the 5-way”). Strange that, so how did current CEO admit it existed? I know Eric Riley also received it but I believe he’s in very poor health? If so, a ‘soul’-saving admission may be something to consider?
In any event and no matter how long it takes, the original Rangers FC must be shown for what it is: a pack of cheats and liars and the football sanctions of 0-3 losses in all games in which they cheated must be applied.
And then, ADMIT AND PUBLISH that they died in 2012 and David Murray is just another knighted con-artist and hence should be stripped along with Rangers FC (died 2012) of all and any STOLEN titles.
