Scott Wright is apparently a transfer target for Sheffield Wednesday!
The 26-year-old super-sub was almost off loaded to Turkey last summer but got cold feet and returned to his usual role at Ibrox, scoring his first SPFL goals of the season in the May 14 home win over Dundee.
Wright has a year left to run on his contract and is among the deadwood that Phil Clement now that the five out of contract flops have moved on.
The Daily Record reports:
Rangers winger Scott Wright is a target for Championship side Sheffield Wednesday.
Mailsport understands the Hillsborough club have already registered their interest in the 26-year-old Ibrox star, who has a year left on his Gers contract. Wednesday boss Danny Rohl is an admirer of Wright and is keen to take him to Yorkshire for a crack at England’s second tier.
The former Aberdeen man signed for Rangers in 2021 and started in the Europa League Final against Eintracht Frankfurt two years ago. But he’s been a peripheral figure under gaffer Philippe Clement, who is planning wholesale changes at Ibrox this summer.
The Belgian has already added five new players to the ranks with more on the way, which means Wright could be edged out. With 12 months remaining on his current deal, he’s a player Rangers are willing to listen to offers for this summer. The Owls hope to negotiate a deal for Wright ahead of the new campaign.

The thought of Wright teaming up with Josh Windass is unlikely to terrify Championship defenders as they prepare for the new campaign.
As well as Wright it is believed that Clement is hoping to get rid of Robbie McCrorie, James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Ben Davies, Ridvan Yilmaz, Nicky Raskin, Todd Cantwell, Tom Lawrence, Kieran Dowell, Cyriel Dessers, Sam Lammers and Rabbi Matondo.
Getting transfer fees in for three of those players would be a major achievement.
Wright started eight SPFL matches last season, came off the bench 15 times with both of his goals coming in Match 37 at home to Dundee.

I see auld pishy Tena Lady aka Spew Heevins is all giddy with excrement sorry I mean excitement about lack of signings at Celtic.
This auld fud is more concerned about our lack of signings than the state of things over at ibrox regarding no football being played there for at least the first 3 games of the season,a think briefly mentioned it as issues with the ibrox stadium.
Instead writing an article about the state that klub are in at this time he turns it on Celtic, can you imagine if this was Celtic in sevco’s position the media would be having a field day,and here they all are with chance to investigate and dig deep around the asbestos situation at the ibrox stadium and e everyone of them are on a sponsored silence, but not when it calls Celtic out about spending money on players.
He also spoke about Celtic playing catch up with sevco getting a move on by bringing in their new players for the coming campaign,5 nickel&dime players brought in by sevco from nickel&dime teams the other side of the planet nobody has heard of before and they will automatically challenge us.
Oh and apparently there is a pike of deadwood at Celtic Park that needs to,funny that he never mentioned yhe deadwood at sevco that are still there that cost them the title last season.
At least they are trying at least there is movement both in and out celtic?
So far zilch nothing nada not even a goalie.
A joke we are and keevins got any right to have a crack
They can sign as much dross as they want unfortunately, for them, they need to part with more of the dross already there to fill the transfer kitty now that castle greyskull is falling apart. While this is amusing and Cannywell is back on Instagram to add to the hilarity I am more concerned with our lack of nothing as in no signings, no updates basically Zilch, Zero, Nada. As for the old dinosaur he’s no more of a journalist than I am the Pope although I am glad he’s back as I look forward to the next installment of Kew Heevins over on the read celtic blog.
