Palmerstown FC has reluctantly had to postpone their 12th Anniversary Friendship match at Ibrox next month.
Dozens of fans from the Dublin based Sunday League side will have their match tickets refunded but are still left with Ryanair flights and hotel bookings for a match that won’t take place.
With both clubs starting life in 2012 there has been a great affinity across Twitter with progress and anniversaries recognised.
In January it was announced that the friendship would be formalised with a match at Ibrox but due to the stadium closure the game won’t go ahead. It seems that hiring Murrayfield for the match was dismissed on account of costs.
Club Statement:
Our game with @RFC_Youth this coming July has been postponed due to ongoing maintenance at Ibrox continuing into the upcoming season.
All those who purchased tickets will be refunded this Friday.

The Palmerstown lads will now have to prepare for the new season without their glamour friendly although there are plans to rearrange it when Ibrox reopens in the new year.
Is the Ibrokes fun day still going ahead? £20 for a lift in the crane basket to experience those panoramic views across Govan?
