SFA board members are pushing to have their salaries doubled to bring them in line with wages in England and elsewhere.
On Thursday the SFA hold their AGM where a vote will be taken before the blazers head off on a five star jolly to Germany where they will enjoy the usual generous expenses.
It seems that a salary of £25,000 for attending a couple of meetings and enjoying an executive Season Ticket to matches in Scotland and across the world isn’t enough for ‘Alloa supremo’ Mike Mulraney with £50,000 the proposed new level.
Les Gray of Hamilton is looking for a pleasant hike from £15,000 to £35,000.
No one is twisting their arms to pick up these additional salaries, Mulraney and Gray both have businesses outside of football. If they feel under-remunerated they could take their skillsets elsewhere.
Ian Maxwell is the £400,000 a year CEO of the SFA, it seems that the freeloaders that have worked their way through the committee structure feel that they deserve more- effectively taking money out of the grass roots of the game. Ironically Mulraney and Gray watch their clubs play on plastic which demonstrates their interest in the highest of standards.

THE SFA have asked Scottish clubs to green light proposals to DOUBLE the salaries of key members of the board.
The governing body will hold their Annual General Meeting at Hampden on Thursday (June 6).
And clubs have raised their eyebrows at a proposal to hike the pay of president Mike Mulraney from £25,000 to £50,000 per annum, with vice president Les Gray in line for a jump from £15,000 to £35,000 a year.
Independent non-executive directors Alison McGregor and Malcolm Kpedekpo will also have their pay increased to £30,000 a year as part of a move to bring SFA directors into line with industry norms.
In 2012 the SFA signed off on the Five Way Agreement for the 2012 Ibrox Tribute Act, despite fielding ineligible players for over a decade covering five Scottish Cup victories no action was taken against Rangers who are in the final stages of liquidation.
In 2006 UEFA imposed a ban on the singing of The Billy Boys on the SFA, at last week’s Scottish Cup Final it was heard repeatedly with no comment from Maxwell, Mulraney, Gray or anyone else at the SFA.
Like the Five Way Agreement details of the AGM are kept secret, denying fans and Season Ticket holders the opportunity to see the issues worthy of discussion by the ‘great and the good’.
I suppose that it’ll be a decent trip for those fans that are true supporters of Scotland and I hope they have a good drinking session and a good and safe time…
But for those corrupt, bent, sleazy, cheating bastards (The SFA / SPFL) to be there milking all the hard work that Cal-Mac and co. have done for them makes me feel so fuckin seasick that I wanna spew bucket after bucket of the stuff…
Absolutely sickening that these leeches will be lording it there so it bloody well is !

With the SFA paying “industry norms” the SFA will then be able to attract better qualified
Directors – and from outside their insular, parochial boys’ club?
Approve the pay rises, sack the Directors – including Maxwell – and bring in proper,
qualified professionals to govern the Scottish game. 🙂

Yet another very loud call for a truly independent adjudicator for the whole od Scottish football. It may well be from Government, and that in itself would raise eyebrows, but at least politicians are accountable and it would help if there was less apathy and more action from the electorate. Maxwell £400,000 a year for what exactly? Being in the right lodge where I’m sure most of Scottish football’s ‘governors’ spend their time.
Apathy feeds this though unfortunately the SMSM is central to the problem!
