After six weeks on the campaign trail without anything of substance the Daily Record is refusing to give up on their dream of bumper offers coming in for James Tavernier and Connor Goldson.

Other Scottish publishers are picking up on the story once a week in their transfer round ups but every day the Record is coming up with a new contrived way to present the story to their declining army of readers.

The serial losers have been together at Ibrox for five years with barely any transfer interest shown in them.

With Tavernier 32 and Goldson a year younger but men have seen better days but undeterred the Record last night updated their readers with:

Al-Ettifaq reportedly “expect” that a “suitable” offer will tempt Rangers to cash-in on James Tavernier and Connor Goldson this summer.

Record Sport exclusively revealed that the Rangers skipper and experienced defender Goldson are on Steven Gerrard’s summer shopping wish list as the Liverpool legend looks to raid his former club to revamp his backline for next season after finishing in sixth spot this term.

The Saudi club haven’t been shy in splashing the cash since the Gerrard’s arrival a the club with big names like Gini Wijnaldum, Demarai Gray, Jack Hendry, Moussa Dembele and Jordan Henderson – before his quick-fire switch to Ajax – being tempted to leave European football behind.

Philippe Clement have previously stated that he expects the duo to remain at the club for the new Scottish Premiership season – but reports in the Middle East suggest that the Saudi Pro League club are undeterred. Hi Koura claim that it is “expected” that the Light Blues will “open the door” to a deal if a reasonable offer is put in for the club stalwarts.

Saudi outlets are simply reporting back on the alleged interest generated from the Record.

On Sunday the Record highlighted ‘interest’ from Besiktas in Tavernier but they seem back on track with the big bucks Saudi deal.

Gareth Southgate has left Tavernier and Goldson out of his squad for the European Championships- along with another failed Record campaign for Jack Butland.

All three return for pre-season training in a fortnight although Goldson is expected to miss the start of the new campaign due to a knee injury.

Lol notice how it’s always ex-sevco managers linked with those 2 hairy fuds.

Apparently they are bringing another world class player from AC Milan, this player knocked back another contract Milan to go to sevco, infact he knocked clubs back throughout Europe and the EPL to sign for sevco.

Mark Pirie the ARSEHOLE cheerleader for sevco that he is from the daily sevco wrote this up,with the last paragraph saying he may play in the Colts B tram before breaking through, that’s a BELTER knocking back teams throughout Europe and EPL teams to play for sevco Colts.

The shite these 2bob nickel&dime journalists are getting away would pay Douglas Toss and his tory pals and Big DONALD to shame with their lies.

Got to laugh while giving an “”A”” for effort to the daily bun in its attempts to help the ibroke coffers buckle up a little by suggesting Gerrard is even remotely interested in taking either to Saudi.
Firstly, Gerrard is all about Gerrard, and if you can promote the Gerrard name by bringing success, your in….but serial lovers tavanier and goldson, at their ages, and especially goldson with heart problems, wouldn’t last in the Saudi heat.
Both players have not seen better days, but have past their prime for sure.
Facts are, the mordor phoenix club needs to offload high.earners, cutting the budget….just as Bennet said he needed too….because the loses are unsurmountable, and with uefa new sustainability laws, the mordor club finds itself in a chicken a d egg situation.
Borrow more, take on more debt and gamble on success….but possibly.face expulsion from Europe….

The simple fact that the 2012 team are in this position is die to their need to climb out the lower.leagues, and their zombie supports hi Gerrard for instant success….leading to multi million loses year on year…

Since the deadco liquidation there’s never been such a perfect storm fir the Govan club, because having chanced their luck on winning and failing to do so, they could very soon go into administration….something they considered in 2014, but due to cast iron contracts that stood firm on such a decision, found it wasn’t feasible.

The share issues of confetti have dried up, and the club is broke….so the need to sell and quickly.is dire, and the daily bun is determined to help their favoured franchise out….

I feel if our board do the right thing we could be witnessing the end of sevco as any competition for years to Come….hh to that

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Do they never get embarrassed and ashamed about the Lies they churn out for Liebrox on a daily record basis…

Obviously not is the answer to that from what I read on here because I certainly won’t be supporting them financially to find out for sure…

There again as they are clearly Sevco Huns – it’s self explanatory !

  • harold shand says:

Ibrox duo to stay and lead Clement’s charge at Celtic despite big money offers from all over Europe .

    Will be the headline

  • Jim M says:

It boggles the mind that the daily rectum still sells papers daily, must be following sevco and manipulating the figures, can’t wait for both to go bust.

  • John S says:

    Desperate to dump.
