After seven weeks of apparent inactivity Celtic’s recruitment team appear to have sprung into action over the weekend.
On Friday night Fabrizio Romano tweeted about the negotiations to sign Kasper Schmeichel and followed that up with a number of progress reports.
More was to follow on Monday with The Sun publishing similar developments to sign Viljami Sinisalo as back up to Schmeichel with a view to taking over from the legendary Dane.
The slow moving negotiations to sign Paulo Bernardo appear close to a conclusion with one Twitter follower suggesting that the Portuguese midfielder might be reunited with another loanee from last season.
I understand that a deal has been agreed for the transfer of Adam Idah from Norwich to Celtic. Jeffman is a Norwich City Season Ticket holder.
There could be a dozen reasons for a private flight from Glasgow to Norwich but with Celtic scheduled to fly to the USA this week and short on striker options fans are entitled to put two and two together, whatever the outcome.
Idah has been training with Norwich City, a bid from Celtic is reported to have been rejected but with Oh Hyeon-gyu sold to Genk there is a glaring hole in Brendan Rodgers squad.
It remains to be seen what business is actually completed before a more important flight, the one to Washington takes off with the squad to face DC United late on Saturday night.
I tried tracking flight radar between 11 and 12 but could only find US military planes in the East Anglia area – I’m probably now on a CIA list somewhere just for trying to track a Celtic signing?
