After two weeks of holding with the August only line the Daily Record has admitted that Ibrox will be closed for the foreseeable future.

It is a line that Internet Bampots have been pushing since the stadium closure was announced on June 20 with a ‘rogue Asian supplier’ blamed for the delay in building works.

Clearly the issues are far deeper, a three stand option was dismissed in the 115 word statement which has been followed by complete silence other than Neil Doncaster lobbying for fixture flexibility.

Over 45,000 Season Ticket holders have been left to speculate over whether they’d be making the 90 mile round trip to Murrayfield or sitting in vastly inferior seats at Hampden watching James Tavernier entering his 10th season of achieving very little.

Breaking the news on Sunday night in the Record online, Keith Jackson revealed:

Rangers will hold further crisis talks this week about hiring Hampden for the ‘foreseeable future’ as fears grow they might be locked out of Ibrox until October at the earliest.

Record Sport understands an Ibrox delegation visited the national stadium last week to be given a full tour of the facilities as chairman John Bennett closes in on a deal to secure his club with a temporary home. Murrayfield also remains a viable option for but, as we revealed last week, talks about a possible takeover of the national stadium have gathered pace and those conversations will continue over the course of the next few days.

Later in the article pun-meister Jackson drops in:

But Bennett will almost certainly be unable to provide them with a concrete date for when the ongoing refurb work of the Copland Road stand will be completed.

Hampden will need a new surface laid before August 10 to host Motherwell with reseeding starting last week after summer concerts.

Hosting upto five matches in August could have a knock on effect on the quality of pitch that Steve Clarke is expecting on September 5 for the Nations League match against Poland.

If Hampden is used for the opening UEFA group match in August it will have to be used for all four group matches even if Ibrox is back in use in September.

The real timeline is likely to be aiming for an Ibrox return to face Celtic on January 2 with 3,000 away fans filling a big section of the Broomloan Road StanD.

Captain Tavernier is believed to be bitterly disappointed by the latest set-back.

SPFL clubs should be screaming from the rooftops about the SHENANIGANS going on at ibrox, after all sevco’s friends in the nefua had been quick enough to hound Dundee down for a pitch that was waterlogged, which Dundee has no control over.

Were as the shite going at sevco is of their own making, let’s monitor the punishment if any is dished out to sevco, and the other clubs should not bow down to then,as sevco would be screwing every club if they found themselves in sevco’s position or predicament.

What a load of absolute p1$h. I know they dinnae win very much but they make the odd final and semi-final…. would they really need ‘a tour of the facilities’?!?!?! Just symptomatic of the complete drivel that muppet writes. The daft b@$t@rd must draft it in crayon!
