Columbus Crew are believed to have rejected the offers as Celtic look for a back up striker to Kyogo Furuhashi.
With Adam Idah back at Norwich and Oh Hyeon-gyu sold to Genk Mikey Johnston has been playing as a striker during the three match trip to the USA.

The promising Canada international, 21, is an international teammate of Hoops star Alistair Johnston and was involved as his country reached the Copa America semi-finals. Brendan Rodgers wants to add more firepower to his squad, with Adam Idah his top target. But the Celts boss is keen to add a third development striker that can challenge for first-team minutes.
Reports emerging overnight from the USA stated that an “unnamed Scottish club” had launched bids for highly-rated Russell-Rowe. And it’s believed that Celtic are the club who are in discussions with the MLS side over a deal to lure the emerging star to Parkhead.
Any signing being made at this stage of the season is going to require time to adapt to a new club.
Signing a young Canadian to come over and play in Scotland would be a big change in environment but with Alistair Johnston already at Celtic the change shouldn’t be so traumatic.
Throughout August Celtic have no midweek matches which provides Rodgers with extra time at Lennoxtown to work with players and possibly introduce new signings.
Rodgers is expected to hold a media conference on Thursday where the lack of transfer activity is bound to be discussed.
