Even Rangers TV were unable to apply comforting spin on last night’s defeat and display away to Birmingham City.

The third tier English outfit were superior in every area, led 2-0 at half-time and should have finished up with an even more convincing scoreline than 2-1.

Picking out players for media duties is looking increasingly difficult with the futures of James Tavernier and Connor Goldson in doubt alongside many of the other experienced names (high earners).

Leon Balogun is as close as they can get to a safe pair of hands to put in front of the cameras, while five others walked away in the summer the ageing defender signed a new 12 month contract under his fourth manager in four years which included one season at QPR.

If the club were hoping to sooth the concerns of supporters then they would be disappointed by the message he put across.

Another pre-season test tonight, what did you make of that one?

Not good enough, quite frankly. If we come here and we play the way we played in the first half then you seriously have to question yourself.

I don’t want to get into panic mode or anything, but that’s just a very honest assessment, there’s not much to say other than it was not good enough. In the second half we showed a bit more but still.

It seems that increasingly desperate measures are being used to drive out the highest earners at Ibrox with their agents using it to their advantage.

Transfer fees being demanded are tumbling fast with clubs and players sitting tight knowing that the asking terms are only going in one direction.

Todd Cantwell is the latest player to fall out with Clement as the Belgian Beale confirmed last night at a second, unscheduled media conference.

It is hard to see any manager wanting to bring the former Norwich starlet into their squad which leaves more bad apples to go through the motions at Murray Park as the excuses are trotted out.

Joe McHugh has been Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.
When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.
Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement, cheers big man.
There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same more than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying every success for Scotland's Most Successful Club.

    BRILLIANT!!

I love all the conflict going on in liebrox.

Its almost overtaking the great wins with Celtic on their HAmerican tour.
Its all good and long may it last… on both cases.

JOBBIE Copeland licking and eating more sevco SHITE again today with quotes about the fire power in the sevco rank with the new recruits.

Is sevco not paying its PR bills?

Maybe Traynor needs to return to ‘manage’ their pressers?! 🙂

Could someone not have told Balogun:

say it’s only a training match, still unfit, manager trying a few things,

we’ll all click when the serious football starts, etc.

He’s talking there like they’ve just been punted out of the CL qualifiers…

which they will do anyway! 🙂

Getting rid of the overpaid players out of ibrokes is like watching a blocked sewer pipe being unblocked by pushing out an almighty backload of shite .
Only for sevco to re block it with more crap signings.
Sevcos slow demise is an astounding brilliant watch , long may it drag on , and on, and on .
