Brendan Rodgers’ stock among Celtic fans went through the roof at lunchtime today as he called out the elephant in the room in front of the Scottish media.
Repeating the party line out of Ibrox is the standard practise all wrapped up in O** F*** packaging with the two clubs bundled conveniently together.
With Michael Nicholson still to open his mouth on anything during his 35 months there is a communications vacuum from Celtic while a network of media messengers are on call 24/7 from Ibrox.
Every Celtic fan knows the backstory, the pain inflicted by four successive Celtic wins at Ibrox and the target practise that 800 fans provide for loyal bears who surround them on all sides at that stadium.
The hostility continues on the pitch with broken glass mysteriously found in Joe Hart’s goalmouth after that area had been repaired by groundstaff during the half-time break.
A deal was reached between the two clubs and the SPFL in March for around 5% of tickets to go to away fans but when it came down to it only one club went to the expense of seeing the agreement through.
? LISTEN: “Nothing of this was Celtic’s issue. Nothing. Celtic gets dragged into this as being a Celtic/Rangers thing. It’s not. This is a Rangers thing”.
? Brendan Rodgers says the lack of away fans at games against Rangers is completely the fault of their rivals ?? pic.twitter.com/0eLkyk1FDF

Building work to add 600 seats to the Copland Road Stand at Ibrox remains unfinished, over running by at least two months.
The work needed to create safe passage for Celtic and away fans hasn’t even started.
Only a complete fool would accept the promises from the 2012 Ibrox Tribute Act who have lost a succession of court cases since formation by Charles Green.

Spot on…sick and tired of the media bringing Celtics name into something that was solely started by the pettiness of *Rangers FC
— Siobhean ? (@SiobheanG) August 16, 2024
Time someone called out the lies, from @spfl down. @CelticFC got the planning, have done the work but @RangersFC didn’t. Hardly rocket science to work out.

Damn right Brendan. Wish we had a CEO that would step up and make these statements so the manager could focus on football. Instead he covers both, and seems to be head of recruitment as well!!

Did you notice when Brendan marked the scoops’ cards today about who started this standoff ,that there were no follow up questions ? It was a ‘ get off the subject quickly ‘ and talk about something else ! Not a single question either about the 10’s of millions in Celtic’s bank account compared with the 3 pence in theRangers coffers ? Now if that was the polar opposite ..the Prosecco and cheese would have been flowing ..all on the scoops’ expense accounts , naturally !
A Masterclass from BR! Shd have went the WHOLE HOG & asked if they were STILL COMING LOL!
BOOM..!!!
Brillo BR…
Hail Hail Brendan , Hail Hail . Not one slug on the Celtic PLC has uttered a word about this , or any other of the many many things that lot from Govan has done . Get a statue erected for Brendan . A real hero .
Brenny’s a Celtic Man. No doubt about it! He is a pragmatist and get’s the job done on the Park. He is
“Hands-On”
and he makes it happen!
Like Ange Postecogulu before him. They are made from the same stuff! They put the Game first and success follows!
They over-spill their remit within the Club and produce
“More Than A Hundred Fold”
because they are accomplished in their field. They know what it takes to bring success. Like great Celtic managers before them, they know what makes the team tick!
Then you get the guys upstairs, the educated Tims. The Lawyers, Accountants, “Professionals”!
They know how to make money. But that is it!
There is no moral dimension to their contribution to Celtic. They are
“Catholic Masons”
They might as well be Masons. They bow to norms, take percentages from here and there to make a profit. It is how they earn their corn. They increase the turnover of the PLC!
They have compromised their morality.
They generally have top class educations, from esteemed schools. But they don’t represent ordinary supporters because their role at the Club is to increase profit.
It doesn’t have to be like that. They don’t have to run the Club the way they do.
If they applied Catholic Morality, or Christian Teaching, to their remit, things would be better for the Club.
The Club would have a genuine interest in all its supporters, but that is not the way it is!
The Manager’ds remit now is everything. You take the risks Brenny – and we’ll be right behind you. They have no backbone, spunk or self-confidence to make a moral contribution at the Club.
They are silent faces in suits who have no rapport with anyone except their Paymaster.
Mature adults can see that this is the case!
The snoopy, reticent, characterless individuals who raise the shrek and lower the bushel, who entertain the Gambler and Drunk makers, whose money they covet!
They slink effortlessly back into the wallpaper.
Why is it that one honest, talented and practical individual has to take on this role himself?
It is because there is a decadent culture at the Club!
Queue for a Season Ticket, buy the Jerseys, scarfs, pies and Llottery tickets – and we’ll take your money!
Well, you won’t get mine that way, mate!
Have you got that?
