Jim Spence has added to speculation that Luke McCowan could become a Celtic player before the transfer window closes in 15 days time.
A report in The Courier led with a claim that Celtic are ready to launch a bid for the midfielder on top of known interest from Hibs who had a £750,000 bid rejected.
Being Scottish and aged 26 McCowan doesn’t fit into the recent Celtic recruitment pattern but with two weeks left in the transfer window the hoops have still to sign an outfield player that wasn’t involved last season.
He won’t be at Dens this time next week. https://t.co/H0dNUhagPn

The Courier reports:
Champions Celtic are reportedly ready to rival Hibs for the midfielder this summer.
The Scottish Sun say the Hoops are eyeing the former Ayr United man to bolster their options ahead of a busy season of domestic and European football.
That’s after a £750,000 bid from Hibs was booted out by the Dens Park club.
After one season in the SPFL Premiership McCowan is something of a late bloomer, catching the eye last season with Dundee earning a top six place after promotion from The Championship.
Celtic appear well stocked for midfielders but if Matt O’Riley is sold there could be some changes to the preferred trio of Callum MvGregor and Reo Hatate alongside the Danish midfielder.
During his first spell as Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers signed Scott Bain and Jack Hendry from Dundee.

I don’t know enough about the guy to offer an opinion on his ability…But I have a feeling that CL squad rules may have something to do with it.
I think he’d be a great signing for us. He’s involved in everything when Dundee are building on the pitch. A good young scot as well.
I’ve said it elsewhere – Celtic should consider Stuart Armstrong on a free transfer. Tried and tested and still only 32. Goalscoring midfielder who assists with the jock quota for UEFA. Doesn’t have an injury history like McCarthy either.
Never a Celtic player. He had his chance but, with the greatest of respect, never a Celtic player!
All about opinions!?
Yes sure it is!
More Comedy Gold this morning from the daily sevco with the headline Charlie Miller sevco legend.
What the fuck did that ARSEHOLE do to become a legend.
Great wee player, ticks a lot of Brendan’s boxes. Worth couple of million to Dundee.
