Fabrizio Romano has set out the timeline for Alex Valle to be announced as a Celtic player, joining on a season long loan.

News broke on Thursday night of the proposed deal, soon after Brendan Rodgers had laid out his expectations following Celtic’s 3-0 win away to St Mirren.

Michael Nicholson has yet to add an outfield signing to last season’s squad, with Matt O’Riley sold to Brighton the Celtic bank balance is even healthier but the quality in the first team squad spread even thinner.

How many signings will Celtic make in the last 10 days of the Transfer Window

Zero or one signing at a notoriously difficult time

Left-back is a position that Celtic have been short in for some time, fairly quickly it became clear that Rodgers had little faith in Alexandro Bernabei who was sent out on loan to Internacional of Brazil in February.

Valle spent last season on loan at Levante, playing 30 matches in the second tier of Spanish football before being involved in Barcelona’s pre-season plans.

With a Glasgow Derby coming up on Sunday followed by a visit from Hearts and the start of the Champions League on September 17-19 it is difficult to see when Valle can play his way into the Celtic side.

With no reserve fixtures the 20-year-old from Barcelona will need to impress in training with the upcoming international break offering the opportunity to get upto speed.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.

  • john clarke says:

Stop “ginning around” and get Mikey Johnston for Trusty over the line.
Trusty is a left-footed defender who can be brought forward for set-plays.
Of the few goals he has scored; most came from headers.
Does CCV or BR know him? If buying Trusty, is a pig in a poke; go for Alex Valle.
“I trust Michael Nicholson”. Cal McGregor nearly said the same, a day or so ago.

You have got to hand it to Celtic. Procuring £25 million for one player, three times over now, is very good business.
You could hardly say it was anything less!

    • TicToc says:

Aye true, that is if you’re a ‘businessman’ rather than a passionate Celtic FC supporter!!!!
It’s not even as if they spend the money they bring in.
And here’s some more truth. Lawwell has gotten away with murder at CP and actually thinks he’s something special. He’s COST US untold millions with his cheap, speculative punts and his enormous, unearned salary.
So I’m sending you homeward, tae think again!
PS Really sorry to hear MOR was injured last night after only 9 minutes of his debut by a thug in a football kit who captains Crawley Town or whatever their proper title is.
Get well soon Matt and thanks for everything you brought to Celtic FC, except the hasty exit arranged by an arsehole in a suit who gets paid for being just that!.

What’re you tellin’ me for? Tell him yourself! No Sassaneachs here!

        • TicToc says:

I don’t understand what you’re trying to say, maister.
I was really trying to work out if your interest is more on Celtic FC or the business of the PLC.
Your comment suggested the latter and I ‘d assumed this site is more for the former.
          Pray tell!

  • the maister says:

    Fock off!

  • the maister says:

    Have you got that?

  • TicToc says:

You’re just gibbering, pal. I think you should seek help.

  • TicToc says:

I made an honest comment and it pissed you off and now you’re behaving like a hun.
FFS, get a grip. If you dislike what I type just ignore it and read what suits you. END.

  • the maister says:

It has just got to be all about YOU. Hasn’t it? Just so’s you know, like!
