Nick Walsh will referee Sunday’s match when Celtic visit Easter Road to face Hibs.
It is the second successive weekend that he will be in Edinburgh after taking charge of Saturday’s Premiership opener at Tynecastle.
Those appointments on the back of handling the Scottish Cup Final in May would suggest that Walsh is considered as the top match official at the SFA. Alan Muir will be on VAR duty for the televised match.
Adam Idah’s penalty double in February provided Celtic with a rare win away to Hibs which was on the back of an October goal-less draw in Leith.
Once again Hibs will be under new management with David Gray suffering a 3-0 defeat away to St Mirren on Sunday in his first match in charge on a permanent basis.
After a League Cup campaign that included a group stage defeat away to Kelty Hearts there is early pressure on Gray with back-to-back matches against Celtic coming early in his tenure.

Time has caught up with the SFA?
A Tim in charge of Refereeing, an ex-EPL Ref in charge of VAR, no sign of Bristol Bar Cheatin’ Beaton.
I just don’t want to be a second class football supporter in my own country!
