Arne Engels is reported to be undergoing a medical in London before completing his move to Celtic.

The update comes from Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports with an 11.40am time stamp on the busiest day of the year.

Word emerged yesterday that agreement had been reached between Celtic and Augsburg with the player reported to be keen to get the move completed.

If completed the £11m fee will be a Celtic record deal and mark an incredible profit for Augsburg who paid £100,000 to Club Brugge to sign the teenager in January 2023.

Putting in 33 Bundesliga appearances last season has brought Engels to the attention of others, regardless of how he plays for Celtic he will be viewed as a replacement for Matt O’Riley who also made the 23/24 season the one that took his career to new levels.

Celtic have until 11pm tonight to complete business with speculation rife that Auston Trusty and Luke McCowan could be signed before tonight’s deadline.

Peter lawwell forced to pay more again for his last minute deals, the irony is probably lost on him due to his ego , costing the club millions more in transfers due to his incompetence , still get his bonus though.

Probably eeked oot £5M mare fur O’Reilly m8 so in effect we’ve got Engels fur £6M which I’ve NO DOUBT wda been Liewells 1st Lowball bid! He dizny give a Fuk, still well in the black fur the Windae!!

Did he f**k. Celtic had no need to sell Matt, they could easily gotten 40 – 45 million. Brighton paid way less because english teams don’t rate the spfl, but Matt is way better than that and everyone knows it. He’s the best spfl player since Henrik

OK we have failed again in another window – with the last minute flurry getting a

    bit tired and predictable.

But, I have liked Luke McCowan whenever I’ve seen him play.

A ‘PL-type’ penny-pinching bid at 10pm tonight to be offered to Dundee?

If there’s any truth in this link, then why could he have not been bought

on Day 1 of the Transfer Window?

    • Jim M says:

Too true Bob (original) , transfer windows been an embarrassment, board knew who they wanted to move on .
Bringing in players and spending money is the usual last minute panic is the norm from a despondent clueless incompetent board, hopefully lawwells
      transfer is imminent.
