Watch how Kasper Schmeichel celebrated with Celtic fans

After two games as a Celtic player it seems that Kasper Schmeichel fully gets what the team means to the supporters.

The Danish keeper did suffer a late scare when a shot from Hibs substitute Kieron Bowie struck the bar but after 180 minutes the Dane has two clean sheets on his record and barely a save to make.

Against Kilmarnock last week he was surrounded by a bowl of almost 60,000 fans, yesterday at Easter Road there was a rump of around 2,900.

With Celtic kicking off playing down the slope Schmeichel was in front of the away support as Nicolas Kuhn opened the scoring within three minutes- and didn’t need a second invite to celebrate with the fans.

There were further celebrations in the 20th minute when Callum McGregor arrowed in a 25 yard shot that Hibs keeper Josef Bursik.

Any goalkeeper joining Celtic is warned that concentration is a key issue, you could easily go 20 minutes without a touch or redirecting a pass-back.

Schmeichel has made the handover from Joe Hart seemless, his comfort with the ball at his feet is an upgrade on his former Manchester City contemporary.

And there is every sign that the Dane is forming the same bond with the Celtic support that made Hart appreciate his three seasons so much.
