Alistair Johnston appears to have taken part in training at Lennoxtown this morning.

The defender suffered a hamstring knock at the weekend which forced him to be substituted during the first half of Canada’s win over the USA.

Johnston flew back to Scotland, missed Tuesday’s match against Mexico with Celtic fans searching for updates over the condition of his hamstring.

SNS are given media access to Celtic training sessions on a Friday morning, among the many images shown the one of Johnston is of most interest.

As well as that image Sky Sports News shared a video clip of Johnston plus James Forrest, Greg Taylor and Cameron Carter-Vickers who all missed out on international duty through injury after being involved in the Glasgow Derby.

Brendan Rodgers will meet the media this afternoon but from the picture Johnston looks ready to face Hearts tomorrow although Wednesday’s Champions League tie against Slovan Bratislava will be a consideration.

Joe McHugh has been Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.
When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.
Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement, cheers big man.
There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same more than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying every success for Scotland's Most Successful Club.

Hopefully having a full strength squad against the Diets isn’t derailed by any more “honest mistakes” from VAR (AKA the Masons on the Monitors).

Rodgers is facing his first week of game management for this campaign, which will possibly involve a few decisions taken upon game time for a number of players?
With a far bigger game with the CL match midweek, than what the diets have to offer, might affect Rodgers team selection for Saturday?
Be very surprised if Rodgers was to take any risks in that regard, especially with the high level of intensity within our game, that we are currently playing at?
But great to see AJ and CCV back training, even if it remains uncertain at present, as whether they are both fit enough for 2 games in 4 days?
Hopefully both are and potential changes can be applied more so for the following weekend?

Sensible planning that AJ didn’t play against Mexico thankfully…

I pretty much hate international football these days but it was handy minutes for Ralston and Idah !
