Celtic appear to be preparing to face Borussia Dortmund without Cameron Carter-Vickers.
The former Spurs defender has missed Celtic’s last two matches due to a toe injury with Auston Trusty starting the matches against Falkirk and St Johnstone.
There is a fairly tight timeline between the matches in Perth and Dortmund with facing last season’s Champions League runners-up not the sort of fixture for anyone carrying a injury concerns.
Trusty has played alongside Stephen Welsh and Liam Scales in his two Celtic appearances, speaking to The Sun the Irishman gave a strong endorsement for the deadline day signing from Sheffield United:
He didn’t look uncomfortable and that’s brilliant. We’re two lefties and he got the short straw playing on the right!
But he was so solid on the ground and in the air. He was really, really good.
He’s a top player and I think, whoever it is, we’re ready as we’ve had a chance to play with each other now.
I’ve no preference because we have so many good players in each position that we can deal with injuries here and there.
Cam’s a massive player for us, but I keep saying that strength and depth is massive. There is real competition for places.
Brendan Rodgers’ squad are expected to train this morning at Celtic Park with media access, followed by the flight to Germany and a pre-match media conference in Germany tonight.
Brendan Rodgers has been giving away very little detail about the injury to Carter-Vickers but after Sunday’s match away to Ross County Celtic don’t play again until October 19 a month on from the defenders last appearance, at home to Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League.
