Odin Thaiago Holm is the only ‘big signing’ missing from the Celtic squad registered with UEFA for the Champions League.
A year ago Alexandro Bernabei, Maik Naworocki, Marco Tilio and Kwon Hyeok-kyu were all left out despite being fairly recent signings but over the summer transfer window the Celtic squad size was greatly reduced.
All of the summer signings are included in the squad with the opening match at home to Slovan Bratislava less than a fortnight away.
Holm came on as a substitute in last season’s opener, away to Feyenoord but was sent off as Celtic were reduced to nine men setting back his career in the hoops.
With Paulo Bernardo, Luke McCowan and Arne Engels signed and battling for midfield places it is hard to see a way back for Holm unless there is a couple of bad injuries.
Holm has made two substitute appearances this season but alongside Stephen Welsh and Yang Hyun-jun he lost out on a place on the bench for Sunday’s Glasgow Derby with four players signed in the previous week involved.
Adam Montomery, who hasn’t played any football this year due to injury is in the squad to make up the numbers on players by Scottish clubs alongside Scott Bain and Greg Taylor.

Due probably to 8 home grown players need to be registered for Europe if you want to have a full 25 man squad!
Someone has to miss out, Following BR comments in pre-season it wasn’t a huge suprise. Just hope the player himself take it onboard and pushes himself that bit more. Ideally a loan move to get regular game time would be better for his development. But I still feel he has the potential to stake a claim for a place, just needs a break to show what he can do instead of fleeting glimpses or the final 10 mins of games.
