James Tavernier’s disappointing performance on Sunday seems to have been the final straw for many bears.
While deep down acknowledging that their captain was an empty shirt they took comfort from the freaky stats and last season’s accolade of being the second highest scoring defender in world football.
There are of course alternative stats for the skipper who has watched Celtic rattle off five trebles in eight years with the hoops only managing three trebles before Mark Warburton snapped up the Wigan utility player for £250,000.
A video compilation of his disappointed post match interviews has pushed Tavernier into hiding this season but there was no escape from the post match abuse as the losers returned to Ibrox on Sunday.
The personal abuse became too much to take as he shouted back at an abusive fan who wasn’t slow to call him a ‘f***ing embarrassment’ and ‘a f***ing loser’.
Most folk would say that action was crossing a line but there are a large number of fans that think that their Hall of Famer is fair game for his feeble performances in the regular capitulations to Celtic.

In seven matches played this season Tavernier has only spoken to the media once, normally a captain would be speaking before or after every third match or more frequently when results aren’t going well.
Vaclav Cerny spoke to the media before Sunday’s match with Super Jack Butland dishing out the excuses after the 3-0 defeat to Celtic.
Clement’s side aren’t in action until they face Dundee United on September 15 at Tannadice, from this distance it seems likely that John Souttar or Connor Barron will deliver the pre-match rallying call to the media.

Tav will refuse to play the next game after the abuse abd thst confrontation outside the stadium.
It will be put down to an injury picked up in training why he can’t play,but the real readon will be that confrontation with the klan.
As Tavpen trudged off the field on Sunday ,totally humiliated and thrashed ,he let loose a giant mucus filled poached egg spit just before the dugouts . It’s a recurring theme from this loser at Parkhead . He spits as he walks onto the field and does the same walking off in total defeat ,every time showing his disdain for Celtic FC …it’s a disgusting habit and tells us volumes about his character . I don’t mind Tavernier he seems to be a decent sort of human being , doesn’t bad mouth very often and he tries his best playing with all the dross around him,the whole sevco team were pretty poor and remember Tavernier gave water bottles to Hatate when that prick cuntwell refused him a drink of water.
