Six matches into a 38 game programme isn’t the greatest of samples but it does give a decent indicator of the trends for the SPFL Premiership.

With full points from those matches and a goal difference of 20-0 it is no surprise that Celtic are predicted to go on and lift title number 55 amassing a points tally of 96.

Aberdeen are currently matching Celtic in terms of points but with a goal difference so far of 12-4 the Dons are expected to drop back into third place, making way for the Clement Revolution to claim another second place.

A 22 point winning margin is at the top end of expectations, much will depend on the impact of Europa League Thursday night exertions with Aberdeen spared of that distraction.

At the other end of the table Hearts and Hibs are expected to finish in the bottom six while Dundee and Dundee United are on course to finish in the top six for the first time ever.

Saturday’s heavy defeat from Celtic has made a big impact on St Johnstone with the Perth side on course for bottom place as they search for a new manager.
