Brendan Rodgers has made two changes to the Celtic side that eat St Mirren for today’s Glasgow Derby.

James Forrest and Adam Idah drop out of the Starting XI with Kyogo Furuhashi and Nicolas Kuhn coming off the bench.

All four of the players that Celtic signed during the last week of the transfer window are named among the substitutes which means that Stephen Welsh, Yang Hyun-jun, Odin Thiago Holm and Francis Turley miss out.

With three wins out of three to start their defence of the SPFL title the home side are in the driving seat as they look to go five points ahead of their city rivals and go level with Aberdeen at the top of the table.

John Beaton will referee today’s match with fellow Lanarkshire official Andrew Dallas on VAR duty alongside Graeme Stewart.

CELTIC: Schmeichel; Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Taylor; McGregor, Hatate, Bernardo; Forrest, Idah, Khun

SUBS: Sinisalo, Trusty, Palma, Idah, Valle, McCowan, Engels, Forrest, Ralston

Are you taking the Schmeichel ?

  • Terence Nova says:

As I’ve said on here before….I have NEVER been confident going into this fixture…and that’s since my first one in 1962.
If the team with better players and better football skills wins games…then this would be a shoe-in today.
BUT…with Sevco supporting referees and dodgy VAR decisions ….I’ll reserve the right to be nervous.
Hope with all my heart we batter them today…

Well…we did batter them…BUT…boy… 3-0 lets them off the hook….BIG time.
Two criticisms of us I want to offer….
So many really good chances we missed…Should have been 5 or 6.
And we fanny about too much at the back…
We let them steal the ball too often due to poor passing play…Needs to stop.
    Does that seem unfair…??…
    I don’t care…
That score line doesn’t reflect the gulf between us.
    Bury them next time.
    Other than that…
    I’m delighted !!
