In February 2023 in the build up to the League Cup Final Premier Sports produced a graphic that highlighted the trophy counts between Celtic and the two Ibrox clubs.
The hoops were on 114 with both versions of Rangers on 117, over the next three months Ange Postecoglou delivered Celtic’s eighth treble to cast an ominous shadow over Micky Beale, two months into the following season the Brains Behind Gerrard was a goner.
Phil Clement bought some time by winning the League Cup, thanks mainly to Kilmarnock boss Derek McInnes and the relaxed approach to the Laws of the Game by Alan Muir and Don Robertson.
In the first few months of 2024 Clement was tipped to deliver a quadruple, that was downgraded to a treble then ended in dismay as Celtic again drew level on the trophy trail.

You don’t need to a high level analyst to see the trend in the graphic above, since 2016 Celtic winning the treble has become the norm.
As statements, comments, Chairmen and whatever else are reeled out of Ibrox the gap between the two city clubs grows larger.
Only a fool would bet against Celtic winning less trophies this season that their city rivals, if the SPFL trophy is retained it takes Celtic to the psychologically damaging #title55.
Whoever is the CEO at Ibrox at that stage will need to have exceptionally thick skin, hyping up the next manager to follow Clement is going to be a tough act in the shadow of ‘the world’s most successful football club’.
I dare say the Scottish mugs in the media will find a way to sugar-coat a nice wee squirrel story to keep the klan happy.
Isn’t it amazing that we are more successful than Real Madrid? Lol
