No one is more fitting for a half-n-half scarf at tomorrow’s Champions League match than Murdo MacLeod.
The midfielder spent significant time with both clubs but more recently has been beset by health issues but has typically battled through.
As a player there was no-one stronger than MacLeod in the middle of the park, starring for a vintage Celtic side between 1978 and 1987 that created memories that lasted a lifetime.
In the summer of 1987 he made the move to Borussia Dortmund, as luck would have it he was soon back at Celtic Park in the UEFA Cup with Dortmund the first ever German side to be drawn against Celtic.
On way to Dortmund, looking forward to a great game tomorrow night, and to see old friends ?? pic.twitter.com/onwUhoTEFc

After three seasons in the Bundesliga MacLeod moved to Hibs where he won a League Cup as captain.
Spells in management at Dumbarton and Partick Thistle followed before a final Celtic chapter as assistant to Wim Jansen as the hoops won their first title in a decade.
As Celtic and Dortmund face each other for the fifth time MacLeod can enjoy the acclaim of both sets of fans as he reflects on trophy winning at both clubs.
Good strong box to box midfielder with a thunderous shot bought from Dumbarton by Cesar i think he scored on debut all the talk he was going to his boyhood heroes but after talks with Cesar he signed for celtic £90,000 or £125,000 done what he could for Celtic dortmon offered him a fortune Came back to Celtic as understudy to Jansen great partnership stopped old co making it ten in a row incredibly feat yes you have errand your seat at Celtic greats table
If we go out and play OUR game, Dortmont just might be taken by surprise, as no other team attack as fast as us. Go for it Celts, we can do this! Hail Hail
