Cameron Carter-Vickers will miss Celtic’s match against St Johnstone tomorrow but hasn’t been ruled out of Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund.
‘Difficult to tell’ is the verdict for the match in Germany from Brendan Rodgers as he answered questions at his media conference ahead of the match in Perth.
Carter-Vickers impressed during Celtic’s 5-1 win over Slovan Bratislava but was left out of the matchday squad against Falkirk in the League Cup, the defender was also left out of the USA squad for the September international matches.
? “He’s been playing with it for a little while, but we’ve got to try and manage it now…”

He’ll miss tomorrow. He’s just got a pain on his big toe. We just have to look at that each game. He’s been playing with it for a little while. We have to try and manage it now because he was in pain vs Slovan Bratislava.
Hopefully it’ll settle down quickly and we’ll see where it’s at for Tuesday. It’s difficult to tell. We’re just concentrating on this game and then we’ll see where he is on Sunday or Monday.
Aston Trusty is likely to partner Liam Scales in tomorrow’s match with the former Sheffield United man making his debut in the League Cup win over Falkirk.
Managing injuries isn’t an exact science with Rodgers aware of the recurring injuries that Carter-Vickers went through last season- and the stabilising impact his return had in the final three months of the season.
It could be decided that the best option is to give the former Spurs defender complete rest with no Celtic matches to be played between October 6 and 19 due to another international break.

Christ Almighty ! The longing for bad news from Brendan about CCV is so obvious from the scoops ! They try to get so far ahead of the present day situations ,that I’m shocked nobody asked about Celtic’s plan of action regarding next Summer’s transfer window ? Those pressers must be a nightmare for Brendan especially ,as he and we all know the agendas of the SMSM …twist and spin words and sentences for their own play on words bollox . Give them 3 word answers tops … that’ll fix their wagons !
3 words aye.
‘Just feck aff’ should be the reply to daft questions.
Followed by ‘taxi’s ootside mate’
How’s Fuckin Sevco !
That’s another for Brendan to give them…
Class and Elite having to answer Tramp’s and Scummy’s !
I read his answer as no tbh…Hope I’m wrong.
