Daizen Maeda was the only player NOT involved in Celtic’s second goal against St Johnstone on Saturday.

Normally the Japanese internationalist is earning praise for his all action performances but on this occasion he was counted out as Celtic doubled their lead after the breakthrough goal from Kyogo Furuhashi.

There are two distinct phases to the goal as Celtic created space in their own half before a raking pass from Alistair Johnston switched the focus into attack where Nicolas Kuhn and Kyogo set up the chance for Paulo Bernardo to score.

That passage demonstrates the threat that Celtic carry, even from their own penalty box they are capable of switching play to expose defenders at the other end of the pitch.

It is clearly something that the players work on in training, while retaining possession they are on the look out for that pocket of space to quickly shift the ball into attack.

Johnston switches into central midfield to execute that with Bernardo demonstrating his box to box qualities topped off by a perfectly placed shot that summed up everything about the way Celtic have started this season.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.
