Keith Wyness has warned angry bears that sacking Phil Clement risks sending their club into a very serious spiral.

Many who have observed the Belgian Beale would argue the same about retaining the 50-year-old as manager at Ibrox.

This weekend Clement will celebrate his first year in charge at Ibrox knowing that any significant defeats before the November international break will lead to increasing calls for his sacking.

Apathy seems to be the overwhelming emotion among the loyal bears but after losing 3-0 to Celtic last month Clement and James Tavernier were subjected to serious verbal abuse by fans when they returned to Ibrox.

Wyness had a spell as CEO at Aberdeen 20 years ago, these days he extracts an income by being a Scottish football expert for Football Insider:

Look, it’s a club that’s got some real issues, but I don’t think a change at managerial level and adding more turmoil is the answer. As unhappy as the fans are, they’ve got to see that they’ve got to keep some thread of stability there.

If it was to bring in another group and then more pressure in the January window, you could risk really getting into a very serious spiral.

Somebody has got to be very careful and it needs experienced people at the top. All they’ve got is an interim chairman right now and no chief executive.

At the start of July Wyness was warning Birmingham City that they’d need to offer £30m to sign Connor Goldson.

With no interest from England, Turkey or Saudi Arabia then former Shrewsbury starlet joined Cypriot minnows ARIS Limassol for an undisclosed fee believed to be less than the amount Craig Whyte paid Dave Murray in May 2011 for a soon to be liquidated institution.

Yes Birmingham has been mentioned certainly the EFL is where I’m hearing most interest is at the moment in Goldson. I really don’t know a valuation but I don’t see him being much more than £25-30m.

Maybe he meant 25-30m Turkish lira?

Although even THAT is £550,000 so maybe not….

Keith Wyness? Jeez. It’s like Carl Muggleton it’s such a no mark name from the distant distant past. Didn’t Wyness try to facilitate a job for himself at Ibrox? And he gets paid for speaking about an industry he left over 20 years ago? ??
I’d rather listen to the made up warblings of BFDJ!! ??
