There is no doubt that Jack Butland loves the sound of his own voice.
After years of neglect in England he has found a willing and receptive audience at Ibrox where the media hang onto his every word on the back of a few international caps, the last of them gained in 2018.
His media friendliness led to the hilarious campaign to get him back into the England squad last season, on the back of that came the speculation about a summer transfer with Phil Clement slapping a £30m fee on the former Crystal Palace reserve!
Butland has developed a hugely inflated opinion of himself, with James Tavernier hiding in a cupboard the goalkeeper has unofficially taken on the role of captain, straying towards criticism of the current manager.
Butland is spot on with his assessment. Clement has to alter his approach or six more beatings are on the way. pic.twitter.com/0L7aN2VeSY

The disappointment is we have given them too many opportunities to showcase that. We needed a different approach.
There wasn’t enough from us at the moments we needed to foul and stop them getting into their stride.
We gave them easy opportunities to showcase their serious individual talent.
It feels like one that looks worse than it is. We allowed it to be a little too end-to-end.
At home we want to put the pressure on. We put them under some pressure early on. They couldn’t play out from the back.
We managed to get them stressed but we couldn’t keep it up and we gave away opportunities. It starts to get away from you.
Last time around the Ibrox board turned to Steve Davis as caretaker, when the inevitable happens to Clement it appears that there is a player-manager just waiting on the call to have his voice heard even more.
That’s the first time I’ve felt clement isn’t the man for the job.
Team selection is baffling at times, our midfield is attrotious, our finishing non existent.
Lawrence the only guy that looks like scoring goals pretty much sums us up.

Regardless of the contract extension, I can honestly see Phil getting the sack this season. Players clearly play a huge part in it, but it always falls back to the boss.

He’s bang on… once Lynn got in front for 2nd time it was men v boys…
It might be hard to change our style of play for euro games seeing as we don’t have a style playing domestic matches— SCi (@SCIGONE) October 4, 2024
Can any one of them spell?
“Attrotious”? Indeed!
Lynn must be some player too.
Long may their pain continue…but for what it’s worth…
I thought he criticised his fellow players…and not necessarily PC.
Maybe I didn’t pick him up right ‘though !!
Having said that…
Who gives a feck…??
Hell slap it intae them !!
Off topic Editor…but does anyone know the situation with Sevco’s ” Covid loan ” ??..Is it paid back. ..or still a debt ??
Editor: There was a recent update, they are keeping up with the repayment schedule, £3.2m over 20 years shouldn’t stretch them too far.
You serious about 20 years.??
So, fouling is the accepted tactic from this captain in waiting. I hope referees take note what this bloke advocates.
Ohh! Wait what am i thinking. !
Just checked the 20 year loan …What twat thought that up…??…That is shocking.
And the loan’s like Sevco, INTEREST FREE. (free of interest)
I almost want them to stay ‘alive’ due to the unintended laughter they provide every week.
But honesty dictates they should be gone and, a la Pulp Fiction, “when you’s gone, you stays gone”. What a film!
Well, butland is calling it the way he see’s it. But then, he never does see those Daizen Maeda shots coming now, does he?!
“Once Lynn got in front for the second time – It was men v Boys”
I dread to think of whatever poor Lynn has gone through with that lot…
A Horror Show given that it’s near Halloween…
But these witches canny ‘spell’ !
