Just one small obstacle to overcome for Jordan Henderson’s dream move to Ibrox

There is just one obstacle preventing Jordan Henderson from heading up the Clement Revolution! with a January swoop into the transfer market.

After a brief spell under Steven Gerrard at Al Ettifaq the former England skipper joined Ajax in January in a bid to force his way into Gareth Southgate’s squad for the European Championships in Germany.

Henderson has started three matches for Ajax this season but with a wage of £85,000 a week guaranteed until My 2026 he won’t be rushing elsewhere for a pay cut.

Yeah, could be a bit of a problem getting him to take a £10,000 a week deal while Captain Disappointed, Cyriel Dessers, Danilo, Tom Lawrence and others are raking in three times that amount.

At the age of 34 there is unlikely to be a future transfer fee for Henderson who seems to have switched off the moment he left Liverpool for Al Ettifaq.

More than three months on from the end of the financial year the Ibrox club have still to publish their accounts for trading during season 23/24 with losses expected to be around £20m.
