Two nights after playing for Celtic against Sligo Rovers Luke McCowan was further up the west coast of Ireland in Derry.
The Brandywell, home of Derry City caught the attention of the Celtic midfielder with Bohemians the visitors in a League of Ireland clash.
A look through the team lines reveals that Paul McMullan was playing for the homeside, a team mate of McCowan at Dundee from 2021 to 2023.
With McMullan starting his career at Celtic the connection is obvious with the international break the obvious chance for the former Dundee team-mates to catch up with each other.

After a few days off McCowan will be back at Lennoxtown early next week to begin preparations for Saturday’s top of the table clash at home to Aberdeen.
With Reo Hatate, Arne Engels and Paulo Bernardo away on international duty there is every chance that McCowan could make his first Celtic start for the visit of the Dons after impressing coming off the bench in his four Celtic appearances to date.

Whilst being totally pissed off with the utterly preposterous number of international games and us supplying a whole midfield for this nonsense (and if CalMac hadn’t called TIME on it he’da been 4) there is ONE possible positive. Luke McCowan may well get a chance against ‘the sheep’ and he looks full of energy, passion and guile so maybe he can stake his claim? I sure hope so. They’ll give us a proper battle I think so we’ll need to be ‘firing on all cylinders’. Can’t wait to see The Bhoys again, I fukkin hate all these international intrusions.
