The Connor Barron hype machine has gone into overdrive following Sunday’s home win over Hibs.
Based on 10 incidents Sevco analyst John Walker has been banging the drum for the player that the SFA seems afraid to set a date to decide his transfer fee following his summer switch from Aberdeen.
Walker claims to have been an analyst for Darvel, Petershill and East Kilbride with his Ibrox leanings enough to secure a few appearances on Radio Scotland.
The treatment for Barron is exactly the same as Jose Cifuentes was getting a year ago before he was punted out on loan to Brazil and Greece.
Before Cifuentes Scottish football was warned about the impact that the Todd Cantwell/Nicky Raskin partnership was about to have, on Sunday the chubby Belgian was replaced at half-time by Kieran Dowell which illustrates where he features in the Clement Revolution!
Brilliant Barron v Hibs
Signed higher profile players in the past that couldn’t deal with the demands of Ibrox. Yesterday:
• 90mins
• 11 Passes Into Final Third
• 89% Pass
• 100% Long Pass (2/2)
• 100% Tackles (4/4)
• 67% Duels (4/6)Missed Diomande yesterday but he… pic.twitter.com/jcm1BMkAoa

Barron has the simplest job in Clement’s side, taking the ball from central defenders, advancing 10 yards then passing the ball sideways to a full-back.
In the lack of anything else from the summer signings to rave about Barron is the subject of the usual hype with the matches against Celtic and Dinamo Kiev conveniently forgotten about.
Vaclav Cerny was jeered during the win over Hibs with the biggest roar of the day coming early in the second half when the on-loan Wolfsburg star was substituted.
Acid test is always that game unfortunately & will need to obviously improve for next

That’s systematic unfortunately of where he needs to play and try play with distances between lines.
He could alternatively just turn into Lundstram and only play sideways and never try those passes through fear

Get the stats and highlights real up of the 3-0 spanking at Celtic Park.
A complete standout by offering nothing.

???
Same age as Bernardo, older than Engles
Levels and I mean levels above him
They can play all over midfield, assists & goals in them
This boys a bang average water carrier that wouldn’t get near our bench
McCowan is better than him
Any assists or goals this season?

He’s this seasons cantwell & raskin for you all.
A bang average player that you put on a pedestal when they haven’t done anything.
An average player that couldn’t get game for Aberdeen.— PT67 (@PTC2308) September 30, 2024
Nae Goals
Nae AssistsThe boy is honking, Aberdeen flying since they binned him.

The demands of yesterday? Yeez struggled against an absolutely honking Hibs side. Barron is bang average at best and you’re praising his performance? ??
Think this shows the fkn levels

Ffs. Absolute bang average player who wasn’t a regular in the worst Aberdeen team in 10 years. Can’t play a pass forward. No pace at all and no goals or assists yet from midfield so far. Holding out for a hero ??

Jesus wept, he’s dug meat, master of the 5 yard sideways pass.
If that’s what you’re clinging onto for hope…. pic.twitter.com/Z5wK0NMLph

22 years of age and it’s frightening we rely on him. pic.twitter.com/kfKJBjC2Q0

Aye honkin that enough . The hun pundits were toutin him as the new Barry Ferguson FFS. Aye , he was the master of the sideways pass or the big punt up the park when he got pressurised too.
John Walker is a good whisky – And that’s all !
