Ally McCoist has let slip the depth of the financial problems at Ibrox, some might describe it as a CRISIS!

Over £10m was found during the summer to sign Mohamed Diomande, Robin Propper, Jefte, Hamza Igamane with a commitment made on Oscar Cortes. Less than £1m was brought in by selling Scott Wright and Todd Cantwell.

The full cost of the Micky Beale Revolution! will become known when the accounts to 30 June 2024 are finally published with losses expected to be in the region of £20m.

Clement spilled the beans on the financial issues during an off guard interview during the pre-season trip to Holland, effectively saying that the goalposts had been changed from when he was in negotiations to take on the job.

Strangely, a few weeks later Clement added another year on to his contract, almost certainly lumbering the club with another costly pay off similar to the recent departures of Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Beale.

McCoist was asked about sacking the current manager this morning on TalkSPORT with the Daily Record reporting his reaction:

A couple of things, I don’t think the club are in any position to start getting rid of people. I don’t think they can afford it financially.

The fact of the matter is this, he has to get better results. Where I would stick up for him a little bit, I am not sure he has been dealt the best hand of cards with the players he has left. The recruitment prior to him coming has been absolutely not nearly good enough.

As well as the cost of sacking Clement it appears that without a Chairman and CEO there is no-one in place with the authority to get rid of the Belgian Beale even though Alex Rae is all brogued up and waiting to take over as Caretaker.

The SFA has still to set up a tribunal to set the compensation fee for Connor Barron’s move from Aberdeen to Ibrox during the summer.

Wee Quark from Deep Space 9 aka Alex Rae is already bragging to punters in the pubs in Duke Street that he is being lined up(no joke intended with him having a habit with coke)but him and wee Barry Dingle are being lined up to take first team matters on when Kojak gets his P45 ,which will be very soon,if not before the Aberdeen game in the league then a day or 2 after that should the Dons take all 3 points.

At which point in between this all happening THE CHISLER will be out giving all STATEMENTS o’clock time with words of encouragement that Souness will come as a director of football, and some other shite maybe about McKinnes as manager.

There’s that phrase again! He cast a long shadow over them did Ange. They were all set to dominate for years when the portly Aussie arrived, except he got us motoring quickly after the calamitous second reign of Lennon, the Eddie Howe debacle and saw Gerrard and then Van Bronckhorst off, and must have sniggered with amusement at the appointment of the hapless cockney mouthpiece as their next manager…..

    “Can’t afford it financially …”
    Can they afford it morally?
