Cameron Carter-Vickers is expected to return to the Celtic side that takes on Aberdeen on October 19.
The defender hasn’t played since the Champions League win over Slovan Bratislava with Auston Trusty coming into the side to partner Liam Scales in the last four matches.
Carter-Vickers has been suffering from a toe injury but discussing injuries after the win over Ross County there is a definite timeline for the return of the former Spurs defender.
There are also concerns over Alistair Johnston and Greg Taylor with the Daily Record reporting Rodgers saying:
Hopefully they’ll be back. Ali won’t go with the international team, so that gives us a chance to recover him. Because he’s been working very well. Cam will be joining training later on in this week and then have a good week leading into Aberdeen. So that’s good.
Greg will just have to wait and see but on that I thought young Alex Valle had done well today. Especially the second half, his positioning was a little bit better. But Greg, we hope he’ll be back. If he’s not for Aberdeen, then not long after that.
No detail has been given on Taylor’s injury which forced him off at half-time against Borussia Dortmund but game by game Valle is looking a composed deputy.
There appears to be a sensible relationship between Celtic and Canada over Johnston who played and scored against Ross County but has been left out of his international side for a friendly against Panama and get together under Jesse Marshe.
On Wednesday a Celtic XI will play Sligo Rovers allowing players like Maik Nawrocki, Stephen Welsh, Scott Bain, Luis Palma and Luke McCowan the chance to impress Rodgers.
