Most fingers were pointed at Connor Barron as Lyon went 2-1 in front at Ibrox last night but there were others at fault as Alexander Lacazatte netted his first goal.
A closer look at the clip which few will tire of seeing highlights the complete lack of urgency and interest shown by James Tavernier.
Caught 10 yards inside the Lyon half when Barron gives the ball away, Captain Disappointed simply jogs back towards goal as Malick Fofana ties the retreating John Souttar in knots.
Even as Fofana checks his run Tavernier barely breaks sweat as the ball is switched to Lacazette who drills the ball into the net.
The pass was horrible, but tav has chucked it, not a care in the world, aye he can’t defend etc etc, but he’s just not arsed to even try pic.twitter.com/tq1BnTQBjk

That incident seems typical of the Hall of Famer who seems to have switched off from all activities other than checking that his salary has arrived at the end of each month.
Pre and post match Jack Butland fulfilled media responsibilities, sharing the predicted cliches to cover his back from criticism.
There was an ominous look about seeing Tav being substituted in the 61st minute with his side trailing 4-1 but with a lucrative contract running until May 2026 the former Wigan man knows where he is well off.
Forfar far less Fofana would get past Penalty Tav these days !!!
