Brendan Rodgers has stuck with the side that started against St Johnstone on Saturday for tonight’s Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund.
Greg Taylor has recovered from a knock that saw him replaced at half time by Alex Valle with the main decision to be made in midfield.
Paulo Bernardo retains his place in midfield alongside Callum McGregor and Arne Engels with Reo Hatate starting the match on the bench.
As expected Auston Trusty partners Liam Scales in central defence with the former Sheffield United man starting just his second Celtic match.
Dortmund go into the match in fifth place in the Bundesliga following a 4-2 win at home to Bochum on Friday night.
Next up for Celtic in the Champions League is a trip to Atalanta following the October international break.
CELTIC: Schmeichel; Johnston, Trusty, Scales, Taylor; McGregor, Engels, Bernardo; Kuhn, Kyogo, Maeda
SUBS: Sinisalo, Bain, Palma, Idah, Valle, Yang, McCowan, Nawrocki, Ralston, Welsh, Hatate, Forrest
Nerves kicking in as usual…No idea what to think …but if we play our top game …surely we’ll be ok. ..MON THE HOOPS
Surely we’ll be ok.. ??…Where the feck did that come from…??…Frightened to watch the second half tbh.
Brutal truth…??.. We are not at the races at this level…Technical ability ok against St.Johnstone et al..But against BVB.. ??…Amateurish and that’s sad to say…Passing was really poor…Physicality really poor…Whole approach to tactics really poor…Giving opposition gifts…really good ..Bottom line is…The SPFL is so bad that it makes us look so much better than we really are…So lets keep taking the money…and all will be well.
Just emerged from behind the sofa. What a horror show that was. I didn’t think we’d win but another Euro hiding was the last thing I expected.
We simply cannot play ‘The Celtic Way’ against the likes of Borussia Dortmund…
We might need to take a lesson like Sevco and park the bus v Atlanta next time –
I’m still hopeful of at the very worst a play off place though !
