James Tavernier is bound to be disappointed by the reaction to his 33rd birthday, falling today.
While his employers, where he holds a cherished place in the Hall of Fame opted to ignore the landmark one fan media site decided to acknowledge the club skipper.
Signed from Wigan for £200,000 in the summer of 2015 Tavernier has watched first hand as Celtic dominated Scottish football in a manner that has never been seen before.

Among a tally of 20 trophies won by Celtic since he moved north Tav has accumulated a number of runners-up gongs while the hoops racked up five trebles, taking them to a world record of eight domestic trebles.
It seems that some bears think that the former Wigan ace is personally responsible for Celtic’s run of success, highlighting how he has seen of five managers with Phil Clement expected to become the sixth victime any time soon.
Earlier this year there were plenty of acknowledgements when the Ibrox skipper became the highest scoring defender in the history of UK football, unfortunately no trophies were handed out for that with Daizen Maeda showing zero respect during three Derbies in the closing weeks of the season.
To the surprise of no-one that has watched him in action there hasn’t been the slightest sign of interest from other clubs in signing up Tavernier despite nine seasons in the spotlight in Scotland.
During his time at Ibrox Celtic have been served by Mikael Lustig, Jeremie Frimpong, Josip Juranovic and now Alistair Johnston, all seasoned internationalists, multiple winners and in the case of Frimpong one of the most wanted players in Europe.
Next year will be Tav’s last as a player at Ibrox but with a contract running until May 2026 there are plenty more pay days for Captain Disappointed.
