Ianis Hagi marked his first Ibrox appearance in more than a year with a red card against St Johnstone in last night’s 2-0 snoozefest.
It was the 100th appearance for the club by Gheorghe’s boy, coming on as a half-time substitute he was sent off in the 81st minute for an over the ball lunge at Adama Sidibeh as he raked his studs down his opponents shin.
David Dickinson’s instinct was to book Hagi but Steven McLean on VAR had no option but to order a review with Dickinson reluctantly showing a red card to one of his family heroes.
Not the return to Rangers action that Ianis Hagi wanted 14 months since his last game for the club ?

Hagi’s much anticipated comeback lasted 36 minutes, he will now be suspended for the SPFL match away to Kilmarnock on October 20.
The midfielder does have the consolation of a significant pay rise triggered by making his 100th appearance for the club that he joined in January 2020
With Phil Clement leaving him out of his Europa League squad the midfielder won’t be available to play for his club again until October 27 when St Mirren visit Ibrox.
Two goals from Vaclav Cerny buys Clement another fortnight before his side play against but matches against Kilmarnock, Steaua Bucharest, St Mirren and Aberdeen before facing Motherwell in the League Cup semi-final will test the brilliance of the Ibrox boss and his exciting young team.
“I’ve been struggling for the past games… so very, very happy for those two goals.” ??
