After a poor start to life at Celtic following his arrival from Austrian side Rapid Vienna in the last January transfer window, Nicolas Kuhn’s turnaround has in many ways been remarkable so far in our 2024/25 adventure.

The 24 year old versatile attacker has become a key player for manager Brendan Rodgers, and the German Under 20 international has played a phenomenal role for us so far, scoring ten times and laying on eleven assists in his 17 matches across all competitions, meaning that he has directly contributed almost 40% of all of our goals to date and few using polskie kasyno online would have predicted that kind of return after his opening six months in Glasgow.

With him scoring his maiden Champions League goals against RB Leipzig, some quarters of the media are suggesting that he could be in line for a full German call up in the March international break, and he is also being linked with potential New Year transfer moves to clubs like Fulham and Brentford from the Premier League and some sides in other European divisions. Kuhn will never be in the top ten list of our all time legends, but he could certain go down in the top ten turnarounds.

With that rumour mill speculation appearing, we have naturally seen ‘valuation’ claims pop up and some have suggested that we will only be tempted into entertaining a deal if offers come in at around the £30 million ballpark area. Obviously that would mark a significant uplift in profit given the fee that we originally paid for his services and it would be a very good financial reversal in the space of just 12 months, but given his form and importance we will not be active sellers.

That does not mean we will not be prepared to react to an offer we cannot refuse, and with the November international window ticking on, we are now being linked once again with Brondby forward Mathias Kvistgaarden. The 22 year old, 15 capped Denmark Under 21 international, continues to take the plaudits for his performances and development in the Superliga and with him seemingly open to a move in the New Year, we are again said to have an interest in him.

Having been tentatively linked over the past few transfer windows, it is claimed that Parkhead scouts were attendance at the recent clash with FC Nordsaelland to run our eye over him again, and that as least as things stand, he is top of our shortlist to replace Kuhn should anything ultimately happen on that front.

We all know what rumours are like in transfer windows so at the moment it is very likely that this speculation is driven purely by our previous interest, and the Kuhn speculation, but the player himself has recently gone on record as saying that he is very interested in starting a new adventure outside of Denmark and that this has been his dream, so maybe he is a name worth keeping at the back of your heads until we hit deadline day – but undoubtedly the vast majority of the Celtic faithful will now be hoping that Kuhn goes absolutely nowhere, as if he can show real consistency with this level of form not only will we directly benefit in the battles that lie ahead for the remainder of the current campaign, he will be worth even more come the summer.
